“THE PLAYERS WILL GO INTO THE MATCH WITH BIG SPIRITS”

Portuguese coach Tavares replaced Mohsin Darwish following Al Nahda’s AFC Champions League play-off exit at the hands of Qatar’s El Jaish earlier this month and the Oman league champions have since posted a three match unbeaten streak which includes wins in their last two domestic outings.

“I didn’t have enough time to prepare the team as I only took charge of it recently, however, the players will go into the match with big spirits as they had two consecutive victories in the league recently and this is important,” said Tavares.

“We will be using certain tactics in order to stop the attack of our opponents and the pace of their players. We have studied Al Wahda very well and I hope that we can take advantage of playing in Oman and in front of our fans in order to get a positive result.”
